As of today, Bad Ragartz shines in new splendor and we look forward with excitement to the 9th Swiss Triennial of Sculpture from May 4 to October 30, 2024.
What at first glance may present itself like a perfect opportunity for an April Fool's joke is actually the "first big rocket" for the 9th Swiss Triennial of Sculpture. As the initiator Rolf Hohmeister sums it up: "Not always is April 1st April 1st". So it happens that on April Fool's day the munmental sculpture weighing approximately 7 tons by Stephan Schmidlin is unveiled in a small setting in front of an small audience in the center of Bad Ragaz.
With the cover removed, a bathing beauty in the colors of the Bad Ragartz is revealed. High above the ground, the woman in a purple swimsuit stands on a diving board. Not only she is "on the verge of jumping," as Stephan Schmidlin called his artwork, but also the Bad Ragartz. Proofing this is the countdown hanging near the sculpture. Day by day it shows us that we are getting closer to the Bad Ragartz 2024.
